She completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences at the university of Simon Fraser, Burnaby. She obtained her Master of Occupational Therapy from McMaster University, Ontario. She has ample educational exposure to topics regarding the epidemiological determinants of health, inequities, which enables her to be culturally sensitive to clients’ needs. Karen has worked with and helped clients with concussion / traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, mental health (anxiety, depression), musculoskeletal/orthopaedic injuries, and mixed diagnoses to participate in meaningful activities, including return to work. Karen is extremely passionate about all things brain health and has a strong skill set in concussion. She has lived experienced with concussion and therefore has a deep understanding of going through injuries that are multi-faceted in nature.
When Karen’s not diving into more learning for herself (she's forever a student) you'll find her working with clients, and/or spending quality time with her friends and family. Karen loves exploring new activities and finds joy in different types of coffee, cuisines, hikes, live music, and wine!
