Meet Melissa Arksey: Occupational Therapist
Welcome Melissa Arksey to the OT Works! team.
Melissa has helped clients with musculoskeletal/ orthopaedic injuries, mental health concerns (anxiety/ depression), and those with mixed diagnoses.
Melissa serves clients in the Greater Victoria region, including Victoria, Esquimalt, Sooke, East Sooke, Saanich, Sidney, Langford, Colwood, and Metchosin. She works with WorkSafeBC, ICBC, Veterans Affairs, and private paying clients, as well as those with extended health/disability insurance.
She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. Melissa has enjoyed working with individuals all across the lifespan, with experience in pediatrics, community practice, as well as in hospital, and long-term care settings. Melissa takes pride in her role working alongside her clients, supporting them to reach their goals and return to the things that matter to them!
Melissa has taken courses and certifications in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Palouse Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) in Dementia Training, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: Level One for Occupational Therapy.
Like all our therapists at OT Works!, Melissa is registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
